Max/MSP Beginner Intensive
for college credit
Max/MSP Beginner Intensive is an ONLINE course FOR COLLEGE CREDIT FOR ANYONE offered every summer at Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) taught by Judy Dunaway. Enrollment is open to the general public -- you do not need to be a student at MassArt in order to enroll. This is a 1.5 college credit module offered through the Studio for Interrelated Media (SIM). In 2022 the course is scheduled to begin on July 11th. The price is $779 (click "undergrad" button) for over six weeks of intensive instruction. If you already have ample experience with Max and are interested in more advanced concepts you may be interested in MaxMSP: Advanced online course (1.5 credits), which is a continuation of the Max/MSP Beginner Intensive.
Judy Dunaway has presented her works created with MaxMSPJitter in numerous performances and exhibits throughout the U.S. and Europe. CLICK HERE TO SEE EXAMPLES. She presented her work with Max at Cycling‘74‘s Expo’74 conference at Mass MoCA in April 2019. She has a Ph.D. in music composition from Stony Brook University, where her focus was intermedia and electronic works. She has an M.A. in with emphasis in experimental music composition from Wesleyan University where her primary mentor was Alvin Lucier. She also has a MaxMSPJitter certificate from Harvestworks in New York City. She is an advocate for women in technology and a co-founder of MaxMSPJitter Women Boston meet-up. She has been a composer and multimedia artist for over 30 years.
